The study of FILM Project:
Pre-Assessment
This is a picture that I took this summer of Snowden Peak, this was not taken with a film camera because I have never used one before this project but it accurately represents the types of images that I want to capture with a film camera during my project.

Project Reflection:
Advanced Digital Arts Reflection |
For my independent art project, I decided to explore film photography. I have always been interested in film because my generation was between the film and digital age. My dad showed me a lot of pictures from around the world taken on the very same camera that I used for my project and there is something about the pictures that you just can not capture with a digital camera today. The camera that I was using had auto focus and a lot of advanced features so my first round of photos came out surprisingly well by only adjusting the F-stop and shutter speed. The F-stop as shown to the left determines how much light the camera is exposing the film too. The higher the F-stop, the smaller the whole meaning that the image will be most clear with a higher F-stop. I feel that I have learned a lot about film photography during this project considering that I knew nothing about it going in. In the future I hope to use the skills that I have learned during this project in the future.

I have learned a lot from advanced digital art and was able to use the skills that I learned in the basic digital art class. The focus of this semester for me has been film photography, during basic digital arts I forcused on photoshop and other edditing tools and wanted to branch out and try something new. I have always been intarested in photography and love the way that film photographs look. The skills that I have learned in digital arts, I am sure I will be able to use throught the rest of my life, more and more as our world becomes digitalized. My teacher Roxy has always made the class fun and engaging with her vibrent sense of humor and expertise on digital arts. She has shown me that despite my pretty much non existant artistic abilities, everyone has something that they are good at and she has helped me realize my strengths.
