Why I Chose Animas
I am a hands on learner, but I also do well visually learning. This is why I chose Animas because unlike in traditional schools Animas is based on project and technological based learning, which I feel is a much easier way to learn. The main thing that I didn't like about public school was the humanities department, I hated that we had to do sentence structure worksheets and had to do spelling words, and most of all hated having no projects. The one thing that I did like about the traditional schooling is the social scene, but that also had its bad parts. I get distracted very easily by my friends, so I was always getting into trouble when I was in public school. At Animas the culture had its good parts and its bad parts. One of the good parts is that there is no bullying, this makes it easier to learn and makes me feel safer saying what I want. The bad part about that is that once these kids that are in this sheltered environment go to college or out into the real world, they are going to be in for a surprise. In the real world, college, or any other public school kids will not be nice to you or at least they will say what they want to you because there are not the same rules and consequences for being mean to people in other schools and out in the real world.
